How To Apply

After taking GCSE examinations at the end of year 11 most Westholme students enter the Sixth Form for a two-year course in advanced GCE. Each year the school also welcomes a number of new students into the sixth form from other schools.

To enter the sixth form you are required to have at least six GCSE passes at grade C or above and ideally a grade B in the subjects that you would like to take at AS/A2 level.

If you are from another school, you are welcome to come to our Open Evening which usually takes place in the October preceding September entry. Alternatively you can visit for a one-to-one with Mrs Waldron, Head of Sixth Form, at your convenience. We understand this is a big step and would encourage you to come to visit the school if at all possible. We also hold a taster day for students from other schools in December to give you the opportunity to sample some lessons and get a feel for the atmosphere on a normal working day.

External entry to the Sixth Form is by GCSE results and interview with the Head of Sixth Form.
