Other Events

Each year, the Westholme Association also holds events such as fashion shows, dinners, Ceilidh evenings and the Casino Night. This year, they have recently hosted the Junior Disco which proved to be a huge success.

Westholme Association Junior Disco

The Junior School disco was held at the Sixth Form Centre and was a fantastic success allowing the Association to raise in the region of 600 from ticket sales, "glow stick sales", refreshment sales and a raffle.

Parents enjoyed a glass of wine and nibbles in the Sixth Form Common Room (...peacefully!), whilst the children were entertained in the Assembly Hall by our fabulous DJ.

The children enjoyed two hours of dancing and games, and even managed to help tidy up the hall thanks to Mr Lewis' inventivecompetition! Mrs Booth then led the "conga" upstairs to reunite the children with their parents.

The Association must give their thanks especially for the help of Mrs Laverick, Mr Lewis, Mrs Bolton and Miss Rimmer along with all the school staff who helped with this event, without them, these events would not be possible.

The 'Pre-Loved' Designer Clothing Sale

The Westholme Association held its first ever Pre-loved Clothing Sale at Beardwood Bank on Saturday 7th May. There was a fantastic response from parents with a tremendous amount of clothes submitted for the sale. It is hoped that the Association can build on this interest for possible future sales. There were some great bargains on offer - and not with the price tag many wouldhave expected!

Items which weren't sold will be retained and placed on sale at theforthcoming Second Hand Uniform Sale on Saturday 18th June.Thereare clothes ranging from 0 - 16 years - for boys and girls. Please come along and grab a bargain!

As always, the Westholme Association welcomes fresh, new ideas for fundraising - and the clothing sale seems like a great way to encourage recycling amongst parents. On the back of the ever-growing success of the Second Hand Uniform Sales it is hoped to offer parents the opportunity to buy and sell clothing at a great discount - making life a little more affordable whilst raising money for the Association. As many parents will be aware, there is no resale value in many high street brands, hence the Designer label sales. The new initiative has been welcomed by many, so please come along to the next sale and see for yourself the great bargains there are on offer!

The Westholme Association Casino Night

The Westholme Association Casino Night at Stanley House on 11th Febraury was an overwhelming success, raising in the region of an amazing 1600. To view the Casino Night Gallery - please click here.

Thanks go to all the committee members who helped to organise the event, our Casino croupiers supplied by Taz Entertainment , our money hostesses Megan Gallacher and Alex Ibbotson and Stems for the table balloons.

Special thanks go to Stanley House for the beautiful meal and their warm hospitality, contributing greatly to the overall success of the evening. The evening offered not only great entertainment but also an opportunity for parents and friends of Westholme School to catch up with acquaintances and to hopefully make some new ones!

The Westholme Association would like to thank all of those who attended, our event sponsors, and those who donated our 'High Rollers' prizes, without their generosity we would be unable to raise the funds that we do, which in turn allows us to be able to give the children of Westholme School that something extra.
