BDSSA U14 Hockey Tournament
The Westholme U14s Hockey team played in the Blackburn with Darwen Indoor Tournament on Monday 12th December.
Matches were only five minutes one way and the results were as follows:
Westholme won against Darwen Vale (1 – 0), Westholme drew with St Wilfrid’s (0-0), Westholme won against DACA (3-0), Westholme drew with St Bede’s (0-0)
Westholme and St Bede’s were on equal points after full time so five minutes of extra time was played. The game remained level and so went to penalties. After a series of five penalties the game was still drawn so sudden death penalties came into play. St Bede’s missed their first penalty so Captain, Emily Winter had to score to win. Emily stepped up and put the ball confidently into the net to ensure that Westholme was crowned BDSSA U14 Indoor Hockey Champions!
