Catteral Shield Cross Country
Giggleswick was the venue for the 2012 Catteral Shield Cross Country race event. Our girls worked extremely hard in getting round the difficult course and as they did, they did so in true Westholme style!
The Headmaster presenting the medals at the end of the race admitted that it was a great achievement even to finish, let alone to finish with great results.
As usual, the Westholme team shone; everyone did their absolute best. Laura Backhouse came in a superb 4th place to be our highest scorer. One of our runners slipped in a large puddle of mud and ended up with half of it on her face! However, not wanting to lose too many places, she got up and carried on running. What true Westholme spirit indeed!
The excellent team performance resulted in a third place finish which was marvellous! Congratulations to the following girls: Laura Backhouse, Lois McTiffin, Eloise Littlefair, Jade Gilson and Lucy Barret.
