Short Story Competition
Years 7 and 8 submitted some wonderful entries to Westholme’s Short Story competition in celebration of National Short Story Week. School Librarian, Mrs Hall and the English department staff really enjoyed reading all the entries and were impressed by the high standard of presentation, narrative and written style.
Mrs Hall made the final, difficult decision as to the final three winners:
1st Place – Maddie Laing (8W)
with her story entitled ‘Living the Hard Life’ which had a clever twist at the end.
2nd Place – Katriona Privonitz-Smith (8W)
with a story centred upon an intriguing riddle.
3rd Place – Anna Clegg (7L)
with a beautifully presented story incorporating different narrative perspectives.
