During the first weekend of half term, 14 Year 10 students (complete with their heavy rucksacks) trekked through the beautiful Ribble Valley on their Bronze practice expedition. The Saturday morning started off well in the lovely sunshine but took a turn for the worse for a short spell during the afternoon when they got caught in an absolute downpour which left them all soaked to the skin! Fortunately, the weather improved from that point and all dried out by the time they started to put their tents up during the early evening. During the two days, they learnt the importance of good navigation, organisation, teamwork and resilience. The first ever expedition is always a challenge but they did very well. They will now use their experiences to plan for their assessed expeditions in September.
