Billinge House hosted its very own Royal Wedding today and what a glorious day it was!
The ceremony began at 10.00am when the brides and grooms from each class walked down the aisle accompanied by Mr Harrison who led the ceremony.
The service included a beautiful musical violin performance played by Junior school pupils as the happy couples walked down the aisle. The rest of the school children, dressed in their party outfits, clapped and cheered.
The children quickly assembled outside in the sunshine, making an archway as the bridal party walked through. After an abundance of photographs, they boarded their carriage for a royal visit to Beardwood Bank where they received an amazing welcome.
On their return to Billinge House, a wedding lunch was served. The hall was decorated beautifully with bunting and colourful table decorations and cheers were given for the royal party.
In the afternoon, the wedding reception commenced and there was a crown and tiara parade and the cutting of the cake.
The children at Junior and Senior School also joined in the Royal Wedding celebrations by having their own special "party buffet."
A special thanks must go to all of our catering staff for the amazing spread – it certainly was a perfect end to a perfect day!
