Not only have 18% of students achieved all A* and A grades but we also had 100% pass rate over 26 subjects. At Westholme we take pride in ensuring that our young men and women maximise their potential academically, socially and intellectually. These A Level achievements are a true reflection of our commitment to a holistic and balanced education realised through students’ effort, inspirational teaching and our close partnership with parents. Excellent grades are only part of the Westholme experience and it has been a pleasure to work with such positive, talented and responsible young people; to share their A Level success as they embark on the wider world as adults is a true privilege. My thanks go to the dedicated staff team who have helped fulfil their aspirations and congratulations to the ‘Westholme Class of 2016!’
GCSE Success - 2016
Westholme’s GCSE results have once again proved to be a cause for celebration.
In a year that has seen the National average results fall, we are delighted that Westholme students have bucked that trend. Our A*- C pass rate is 96% compared to the National average of 66% whilst our A* pass rate comes in at 16% versus 6.5% nationally.
Principal, Mrs Horner, commented, “I am very pleased with the results achieved by our students this year. They have worked diligently and maintained a positive commitment to other areas of school life throughout. Top performances from over 45% of grades were at A* and A. 14% of all students achieved all A* or A grades with 80% securing 9, 10 or 11 GCSEs which is truly impressive. Louise Jaitly deserves special mention as she secured an amazing 11 A*’s! We are proud of the achievements from our students as GCSEs provide the essential passport required for next steps in education, training or employment. My staff have worked hard with Westholme students and I am delighted that we can celebrate their success together.”
This impressive set of GCSE results are in addition to our outstanding A Level results which were released last week. The future is certainly bright at Westholme!
