Members of the Senior School Choir perform with Russell Watson
Last night, Westholme were honoured to open a very moving evening of song in the illustrious surroundings of Blackburn Cathedral. In aid of the Prince’s Trust, a concert was given to an entranced audience, and Westholme’s choir had the privilege of being the first performers . Mr Millest’s clever arrangement brought a message of peace vividly to life and the pure voices of our choristers rang out clear. Candlelight flickered and the atmosphere was special, festive and unique.
The Dishforth Military Wives, Blackburn with Darwen Brass Band and Russell Watson were the other headline acts – but we think Westholme secretly stole the show! Towards the end of the evening, all the singers blended together and “You Raise Me Up” made the hairs of the back of the neck rise.
Our pupils really enjoyed the whole experience and smiled throughout; they even had a little sway to the Christmas medley at the end! It really was a delight to be part of something so worthwhile. Christmas begins!
