A Charity Walk

West Bradford – Westholme!

Congratulations to Year 6 student, Leah Oates-Readett, who successfully completed her charity walk from West Bradford to Westholme on Saturday.

Leah had chosen to do this walk in aid of the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre (MACFC) at Wythenshaw Hospital – a place where her Dad often goes for treatment. Leah says the last mile (Brownhill Drive) was “a killer” and every bench she passed was looked at longingly, but with true Westholme spirit, she dug deep and arrived at the Junior School with a smile on her face. She has aches and pains but is very proud of herself (Mum and Dad are too!).

Leah had extra support from the children of two close family friends which no doubt spurred her on. She even had a welcoming party from Westholme students, Charlotte and Katie Backhouse, who had arrived at the final destination with a special banner and balloon!

So far, Leah has raised an incredible £960.00 – well done, Leah. Everyone at Westholme is extremely proud of your fantastic effort!
