A Poem fit for a Queen

Year 6 student receives a letter from the Palace!

In the summer term, Jasmine Youles, who was then in Year 5 was asked to research a momentous event in history. She chose to find out about the Queen’s Coronation and collected a selection of facts for homework.

In class, Jasmine used this information to produce a fabulous poem which is definitely fit for a Queen! To mark the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, she sent a copy of her poem to the Queen, and, during the summer holidays, she received a reply from Buckingham Palace!

Jasmine’s poem has now been published in the Young Writer’s Poetry Anthology 2012 (along with many other entertaining poems written by girls in our Junior School).
