AJIS Cross Country

Running for glory!

Our Year 5 and 6 students (along with a couple of Year 4 children) competed in the annual AJIS Cross Country Competition which was held at Rossall School yesterday.

Although the weather was dry, there was a fierce wind blowing straight off the Irish Sea making the course tough going into the wind. Our excited boys and girls walked the course prior to the run to assess the terrain and conditions.

The boys in Year 5 ran first with everyone putting in an excellent performance. A terrific run from Jonathan Brindle saw him finish in second place in a field of well over 100 runners; well done to Jonathan.

Year 5 girls were next and raced off to the front of the field. They produced our best result of the day with the team coming 4th overall, narrowly missing out on the medals, whilst Eve Downham was first girl home in an extremely impressive 3rd place – well done Eve. This was an impressive result as Eve is only in Year 4.
