Marking Mrs Catlow’s Retirement
On Monday evening we invited Alumni and staff to take part in a netball tournament to celebrate 37 years of Mrs Catlow’s unwavering contribution to the PE Department.
It was a testament to Mrs Catlow’s commitment and popularity that over 60 people attended the event to either play or spectate.
There were enough players for 5 teams with a few extra reserves and so everyone had the opportunity to play in at least two or three games. Unsurprisingly, they turned out to be extremely competitive and very closely matched, but the overriding feeling was one of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tournament which was rounded off with a delicious afternoon tea in the Learning Resource Centre, where there was a chance to catch up with old friends and browse through the archives of old team photographs.
Mrs Catlow was presented with a stunning bouquet of flowers and gave a speech, recounting some of the more memorable and hilarious highlights of her career at Westholme, many involving former pupils and current staff.
On behalf of the Westholme pupils and staff, both past and present, we would like to thank Mrs Catlow for her dedication and unfaltering enthusiasm which has encouraged and inspired generations of students and staff, to achieve incredible goals and to strive to be the best.
Mrs Catlow we will miss you!
