Artisan and Eureka Awards

Artisan and Eureka Scholarships awarded in special school assembly

 

Westholme is very proud to have financial support from local businesses Artisan Interiors and Emica, in the form of Scholarships and the Eureka Essay awards.

Alyas Khan, CEO of Emica launched the Eureka Award in the Summer term and visited to award the winning prizes of £150 each to Rachael Moodie (Seniors) and Malini Dey (Juniors).  He was impressed with the creativity of the ideas all the girls had presented and said, “These essays have depth of imagination and ideas for regeneration that are amongst the best the panel have seen. Congratulations.”  He was also pleased to award the Eureka Scholarship for £500 to Emma Watts for the highest performance in Geography based on external GCSE results. Mr Khan commented that all the girls who had been awarded prizes from his company would be guaranteed work experience and interviews at the end of their studies.

       

Katy Hill, former pupil and parent of Westholme came to award the Artisan Interiors Scholarship to Jodie Clegg, who had excelled in her Art GCSE examination. Jodie was delighted with the £500 award to enhance her studies. Mrs Hill, a director of Artisan Interiors, said that it was extremely rewarding to help a talented girl through her learning, and she looked forward to seeing Jodie’s future work.
