The Final Round Takes Place
Last night, the second and final BPS Cross Country race took place at Lammack playing fields. Over 20 local primary schools took part with the Year 3 and 4 students having a friendly run for the first time this year.
Our team showed some superb running. The girls were cautiously optimistic as the team had done well in the first run, and did not disappoint. They finished in the top 14 runners, romping away with the overall trophy for the series. Kate Deegan deserves particular praise for her excellent second placed finish in the individual competition.
The boys’ race was equally exciting with Jonathan Brindle finishing 3rd overall. Well done, Jonathan!
Although the boys didn’t finish in the top 3 teams, their results, combined with the excellent scores achieved by the girls, meant that the joint team finished in silver position overall.
Well done to all the runners – this was our last Tournament of this academic year and we certainly peaked at the right time! Well done also to the boys in Year 3 and 4 who ran in the friendly race at the end. What a great experience for the future.
