Bursary Ball 2010

A whopping £20,000 was raised for the Bursary Appeal at the Stanley House ball

On June 12th, 180 Westholme revellers gathered in the stunning surroundings of Stanley House, champagne in hand, glad rags on and ready for more fun. By coincidence, England had decided to play their first game of the World Cup that evening. Did they not know Westholme had organised an event? Rather than struggling against the tide, we decided to embrace it and show the game with the sound off, so most of our male guests were appeased! An early England goal got us all off to an excited start and tables named as countries greeted each other in a Mexican Wave.

Amazingly, the generosity of donors and guests alike meant that we were able to raise £20,000. It was overwhelming to see that more than 100 companies and individuals were prepared to offer us help. Special thanks must go to Mark Hindle who continues to be the force behind the event, along with the organising committee of Andrew Redmond, Lynda Matthewman, Helen Thornber, Helen Hart, James Cole and Julie Carter.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Bursary Appeal. It really does create a life changing opportunity. We had another wonderful evening for a great cause. Click here to view a gallery of photos of the event.
