Winner of Best Speaker at public speaking competition

On Saturday 25th February, Hannah Dagnall, Jade Jones and Charlotte Jackson competed in the regional round of the BPW Public Speaking Competition.

Hannah Dagnall delivered a very witty and informative speech about An Endangered Species.   The speech explored the reasons for the demise of the ‘gentleman’.   Charlotte Jackson chaired the meeting and Jade Jones presented a vote of thanks.   The team competed against Kirkham grammar School, Concorde School, St Augustine’s High School, Arnold School and Oswestry School.   Westholme came second in the competition, being narrowly defeated by Oswestry.   However, Hannah Dagnall won the competition for her role as Speaker.   All three girls performed to an excellent standard and are to be congratulated.
