Dressage Team Competition

Sunday saw the first competition for the school dressage team. Despite the snow and a few last minute edits to the team, we had four students compete.

Students at Senior School have been busy filling shoe boxes for the International Aid Trust’s Shoe box Appeal.

All students and staff at Westholme have been helping to raise lots of money for Children in Need today by taking part in numerous activities across our 3 sites.

We Will Remember Them

This weekend and today, students and staff came together to pay solemn tribute to those who have fought or fallen in World War II and other conflicts, both past and present.

Last night, in conjunction with Silverwood Events, we welcomed celebrity chef Marcus Wareing to Westholme School to talk about his latest cook book, ‘Marcus Everyday’.

Challenge Cup Memorial Gala

The annual Magowan Memorial Gala is always a highlight in our calendar. It is an event where we honour the memory of William Magowan and celebrate one of his great passions, swimming. This year was made even more poignant by the fact that it is the 10th anniversary of William’s death.

We were delighted to welcome Cricket Legend James Anderson and his friend and co-writer Felix White (former songwriter and guitarist from Indie rock band ‘The Maccabees) last night.

Clare Balding visits Westholme!

This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Clare Balding back to school to talk about her new children’s book, The Racehorse who Learned to Dance.

Muddy Race for Life

Nine of our Junior School staff members braved the elements and showed true grit, determination and resilience to overcome some challenging and extremely muddy obstacles, on Saturday, as they competed in the Muddy 5K at Preston’s Moor Park, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

MBE Award

We were delighted to hear that our former Chair of Governors, Mr Ian Woolley, received his MBE award last month from Prince Charles.
