Focus on Wellbeing

Prestigious Mayoral Award for Westholme School

Westholme School has been presented with an award from the Mayor for its work with catering supplier Thomas Franks feeding the vulnerable within Blackburn with Darwen and providing PPE equipment to the community.

Year 4 DT Sandwiches

 

As part of their work in DT, the children in Year 4 had to design and make a healthy sandwich. This has kept them all very busy. First up is George who sent in a fantastic video of him building his sandwich in his kitchen at home. We hope you like the look of their creations.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Musicians across the world are a little bored at the moment, so Mr Holt decided to get some of ours together (virtually) to record a version of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Year 6 WW2 History Project

Year 6 have been doing a WW2 project as part of their history curriculum and some of the children rose to the challenge of doing some baking following recipes from the era which would have included ingredients from their rations.

Stand Down 2020

This week would have been the Stand Down for our Upper Sixth students, when we would normally have a whole school assembly to celebrate their time at Westholme and wish them the best in their forthcoming A Level examinations.

Student Success

This week we were delighted to hear that Year 8 student Ibrahim Ismail is back on our TV screens as the 3rd series of ‘The A Word’ aired on BBC 1 last Tuesday at 9pm.

Charity & Community

This week we have seen two lovely examples of community spirit that have been shown by two children in Infants.
