Last night, in conjunction with Silverwood Events, we welcomed celebrity chef Marcus Wareing to Westholme School to talk about his latest cook book, ‘Marcus Everyday’.
The annual Magowan Memorial Gala is always a highlight in our calendar. It is an event where we honour the memory of William Magowan and celebrate one of his great passions, swimming. This year was made even more poignant by the fact that it is the 10th anniversary of William’s death.

It has been announced today that Old Westholmian, Seema Kennedy MP is to receive an OBE in Theresa May’s resignation honours list.
We are celebrating after achieving another year of excellent GCSE results. Over 42% of grades were at the top level of 9-7 (A* – A) and more than 8% at the aspirational grade 9. In 13 subjects, our students secured 100% pass rate achieving grade 4 (C) or above.
We are delighted to have received a 100% pass rate in 20 subjects, representing the hard work of students.

Nine of our Junior School staff members braved the elements and showed true grit, determination and resilience to overcome some challenging and extremely muddy obstacles, on Saturday, as they competed in the Muddy 5K at Preston’s Moor Park, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Saturday night saw The Croston Theatre play host to a special Gala Concert, where we said a fond farewell and offered sincere thanks to our Music Maestro, Mr Millest.
Westholme’s History department received some fantastic news yesterday when they were informed they had been awarded the Gold Historical Association Quality Mark. The Quality Mark (QM) is an award that recognises the excellence of history provision in a school. The QM assesses and values the history provision of the teacher, their department and the school and what is being offered to young people.
On Saturday the Westholme Association Spring Fair was held at the Senior School, and there was a fantastic turn out again this year.
