Let’s Go Sing!

On Thursday 28 April, having rehearsed in Ewood Park through the afternoon, Westholme pupils from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 joined a choir of 4,200 children to sing that evening.

Prep Swimming Gala

The annual Primary Blackburn and Darwen gala took place this month after a 2 year absence and for Westholme, nine swimmers from Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in the event at Darwen Leisure Centre.

Musical Maestros

On Saturday 12 March, we hosted our Musical Maestros experience day at the Senior School for pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6. And what a day it was!

Prep School Carol Service

This afternoon, the students from our Prep School gathered together with parents, siblings and friends at Blackburn Cathedral for the annual Carol Service, led by The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones, Dean of Blackburn.

Year 6

It has been absolutely wonderful to welcome Year 6 back into the classroom. It has been a delight to watch the pupils welcome new members of the school family into their class and there has been a real sense of belonging and teamwork already show in the class.

Harvest Festival

Last Friday, there was a special assembly for children in Year’s 3 & 4 to celebrate the Harvest Festival at the Junior School.

Like a Rainbow Shining

This term, the Junior School children have learnt and recorded the song ’Like A Rainbow Shining’ which was composed by Will Todd at the start of lockdown.

Amazing Art by Year 3

Over the course of the lockdown period, Mr Sutcliffe has been working on putting together some Amazing Art tutorial videos to keep the children in his classes busy.

Mayan Masks

As part of their study of the Mayan civilisation in history this term, Year 5 have designed and made some Mayan event masks which would have been worn during special ceremonies and to ward away evil spirits.

Focus on Year 5 Home Learning

Year 5 have been busy planning, researching, creating and investigating in a range of subjects in recent weeks, and the results have been amazing!
