What a Wonderful A-‘fayre’!
On Wednesday 15 September 2021, students from Years 7 – 10 experienced the school’s first co- curricular fayre, hosted in the sports hall.
The morning was split into two sessions, with all students being able to enjoy the experience and sign up to the co-curricular activities of their choice. The Duke of Edinburgh Award, led by Miss Incerti, proved an extremely popular choice.
During the first session, Mrs Cowan presented an assembly to years 7, 8 and 9 where she introduced the Holistic Award and explain the importance of extra-curricular participation at Westholme School.
The enthusiasm from all year groups was impressive to encounter. Students were proactive seeking advice from staff and peers to ensure they could access their desired clubs at the right times. Many of the students were scheduling their weeks around the extra-curricular opportunities, which was great to see!
We had an overwhelmingly positive response to many of the opportunities on offer from all year groups, with some needing additional sign-up sheets. We would like to thank all of the staff for taking time to help organise this event, as well as the students for the opportunity to showcase all of the wonderful extra-curricular opportunities that we have available here at Westholme School.
If there are any students that have unfortunately missed the event or would like to sign up for one of the other clubs, please speak to you form tutor or to the teacher offering the activity.
Best Wishes
Mr Walker and Mr Purdy
