Joanna Janus receives a gold award for her Nuffield Bursary research project
Upper Sixth student, Joanna Janus, was given a Nuffield Bursary to work for four weeks on a research project at Lancaster University. Joanna’s project was entitled ‘Does the CAX 1.4 Gene Have a Role in Calcium Signalling in Arabidopsis?’
Joanna presented her project at Salford University to the assessors from CREST (Creativity in Science & Technology) and succeeded in being awarded a gold certificate for her research project. This is the first time that a student from Westholme has achieved a CREST gold award and we are very proud of Joanna’s achievements.
