Year 11 & 6th Form welcome Guest Speakers
The Criminology Course students have had the pleasure of welcoming some very experienced visitors recently. On Friday 15th November Mark Cruise, Community Cohesion Sergeant from Lancashire Constabulary and PC Dave Hall came to talk to the Year 11 and 6th form Criminology Course about their roles and some of the cases which they have worked on. They talked to the students about different examples of hate crimes and about forced marriages and ways in which the Constabulary are trying to combat both. Students found the talk most interesting and we are hoping to work with the Constabulary to offer a Hate Crime Awareness Day in the near future.
On Monday 18th November Mr David Horsfield, Accident Investigator for Lancashire Constabulary also came to talk to the students. He presented them with images of various collisions and explanations as to why serious collisions often happen. Mr Horsfield also talked about the techniques the Constabulary use to try and calculate who is to blame in serious and fatal road accidents. The talk was highly informative and most interesting.
We would like to thank Mr Cruise, Mr Hall and Mr Horsfield for giving up their time and coming to talk to us!
