Fairtrade Fortnight

Senior students support Fairtrade Fortnight

Westholme Senior School launched Fairtrade fortnight last week with an assembly which focussed on the importance of fairtrade. Students watched a short film which offered a glimpse in the life of two farmers who are at the heart of Fairtrade. The film showed how Fairtrade makes a difference to them, their families and communities, and the challenges they face.

In the following week, we welcomed Mrs Greenlees, from Preston Fairtrade Group, into school. With the help of students, a Fairtrade Stall was set up in the Learning Resource Centre and the students helped to run the stall during break and lunch time. Various items were on sale including jewellery, purses, notebooks, cookies, chocolate bars and cereal bars.

Thank you to Mrs Greenlees and to all the students and staff who supported the stall.
