This month’s big debate was ‘Should Animal Testing be Banned’
Emma Lawton and Rebecca Breakell spoke confidently and convincingly in favour of banning animal testing in the UK, incorporating an emotive powerpoint: ‘unfair, unethical, unnecessary’. Miss Incerti and Mr Nicolson cried false tears over a cat’s misery and admitted to the ‘humane killing’ of rodents yet the sheer force of their arguments delivered with an authority borne of experience convinced the assembled debaters, defeating the proposition by 14 votes to 9.
The House decided that animal testing should NOT be banned in the UK.
We look forward to the next Big Debate in March.
