Year 6 learn about fire safety
Recently, Year 6 welcomed members of the Blackburn fire service into school. They learnt about the importance of having both working smoke alarms in the house as well as a fire safety plan and watched a short film to highlight the dangers caused by hoax 999 calls.
After a short question and answer session, volunteers from Year 6 tried on some of the clothing worn by the firefighters.
It was an enjoyable and informative morning, and all of the girls had an important message to take home with them about keeping themselves and their families safe from the dangers of fire.
