First taste of Sixth Form life

Year 10 move up to Sixth Form for a day

Year 10 students attended Sixth Form ‘taster lessons’, enjoyed enrichment activities and spent time completing an ‘alternative treasure hunt’ with Sixth Form tutors on Friday 20th June.

The day gave all Year 10 students the opportunity to experience what Sixth Form life is really like at Westholme and they even dressed for the occasion by adopting our new Sixth Form dress code.

Throughout the morning students choose to attend four A-level classes from the full 23 subjects on offer which enabled them to enjoy chemistry, art and drama.

Then in the afternoon they were able to opt for Sixth Form enrichment activities which included voluntary work in local primary schools, CSLA, ESB and helping out with Junior Boys’ cricket.

The day was complimented by hot chocolate and croissants in the Common Room at break time and a competitive treasure hunt in the afternoon.

A fantastic and informative day was had by all and we look forward to giving year 10 more insight into Sixth Form life in the near future.
