An emotional farewell
Today we said an emotional au revoir to several long-standing stalwarts of the Westholme staff team.
Down at Billinge House, cuddles, kisses and presents a-plenty were dished out to Reception teacher and Second Mistress Mrs Rogers. Her eloquence, skill and love for the children in her care will be much missed.
Meanwhile at Senior School, tears and laughter came in equal measure as more staff behemoths (down in the dictionary as something enormously powerful what more can we say?!) closed their classroom doors for a final time to head into well deserved retirement. Mrs Croston spoke movingly about each individual: Anne Mooney, Gill Bergman, Ian Robertson, Sue Whittaker, Mary Haworth and Christine McDonald have clocked up well over a century of service cumulatively! Adieu to Sara Whillance too as moves onto a new life in Chester. Each member of staff spoke to the School and received a musical tribute which were all extremely poignant, especially those performed by the girls themselves. It was a day of high emotions which brought our very special Westholme community together.
