Amidst another year of huge national GCSE reform, Principal Lynne Horner is very pleased with the results at Westholme.
‘The new grading of 9-1 is awarded now to all but a handful of subjects, and today I am proud of our Year 11s and their results. GCSEs are the essential career passport for young people and I am delighted with the achievements of our students, especially in light of examination changes.’
‘With over 45% of grades achieved at grades 9 – 7 or A* A it is clear that our students have worked very hard, fulfilling their academic goals. I commend the dedication of my teachers too who have worked through the substantial exam changes with their customary professionalism. We are especially proud of Luke Gallacher, Dominic Naylor and Eloise Littlefair who achieved top grades of 9/8 – A*A in all their subjects – a super achievement!
The Westholme Year 11 Class of 2018 have impressed throughout having also excelled in performing arts, sport and broader school opportunities. They are energetic and ambitious young people ready for the next step in their educational journey: I commend their diligent efforts and thank parents for their support throughout.’
