Year 11 student speaks to Junior pupils about her experiences in Germany
Yesterday morning Annie-Rose Pickup, a pupil in Year 11, went to Beardwood Bank to tell Year 3 girls about the two weeks that she spent in Germany during the summer holidays, living with a German family and attending a German school.
Annie-Rose won a scholarship which covered the majority of the costs of this trip whilst in Year 10 so before she went she asked the pupils at Beardwood Bank what they would like to find out about. The answer was ‘school life’. Annie-Rose told the girls about school life in Germany and the tradition of the ‘Schultüte’: a cone filled with stationery and sweets given to German children on their first day at school.
The Year 3 girls then designed and made their own Schultüte’.
