Billinge House children have been keeping fit and raising money
The children at Billinge House love nothing more than raising money for a good cause. As part of the Infant School Healthy Heart Day, all children have been taking part in various activities to keep themselves fit and to raise money to buy a defibrillator for Billinge House.
The fun began yesterday, when Year 2 took to the swimming pool at Wilmar Lodge. They completed a carousel of swimming activities, namely: ‘Splash-a-size’, ‘Beat the Clock’, ‘Assault Course’ and ‘Zumba Aqua Aerobics’. All children had fun doing Zumba in the pool, swimming as many widths as they could in 6 minutes, diving and swimming through the assault course and exercising in the little pool. Well done to Mrs Sutcilffe, Miss Haresceugh, Mrs Barrett and Miss Cole for the energetic and fun routines!
Today, all children have taken part in an aerobics session, led by Mrs Sutcliffe. Everyone enjoyed bending, stretching and jogging on the spot to keep themselves fit. Afterwards, they cooled down in the ‘Juicy Juice Bar’ where they sampled many different flavours of fruit juice.
What a fantastic effort by everyone – we look forward to seeing how much money has been raised when it is all collected in.
