Year One visit BMI Beardwood Hospital
This half term Year One have been learning about ‘Ourselves’ and this morning they enjoyed a fascinating visit to BMI Beardwood Hospital. They were met by Mrs Sheehan and her team comprising of radiographers, a physio therapist, a nurse and a pharmacist.
Year One found out what happens if you are admitted to hospital and who can help you to recover. They were shown x-rays, the CT scanner, an ultrasound machine, medicines and bandages and much much more.
Following a healthy fruit snack and a visit to the doors of the theatre where they met the theatre team, Year One waved goodbye and walked back to Billinge House clutching their very own reminder of the visit – Beardwood Bear!
Many thanks to Mrs Sheehan and her team for a fantastic insight into the daily workings of a hospital and its staff.
