Keep on running!
The junior boys competed in their annual House Cross Country event and with over 70 pupils competing the competition was strong. The boys rose to occasion and with a great deal of grit, determination and effort, every pupil finished the course with true Westholme spirit.
In his last ever junior Cross Country race, Freddie Pickford sprinted into his first win in a House Cross Country Competition. Well done, Freddie, let’s hope you have just as much success in the senior competitions next year! Year 5 pupil, Edward Lee, finished in 2nd place, having led the way for most of the course until the sprint finish. In 3rd place was Finlay Testa, a regular at running club, so it was no surprise he was challenging for a top 3 finish.
It was fantastic to see lots of the boys achieving personal best scores and our new Year 3 students rising to the challenge of running a difficult course. It was a great event, filled with competitiveness, resilience, determination and a great House spirit. We now look forward to the House Football Competition.
