In order to enter the INSPIRED Sixth Form, students are ideally expected to achieve 6 GCSEs at Grade 6, including English and Maths with a Grade 7 in those subjects they wish to study at A Level if they have taken them at GCSE. All students will also have an interview with the Principal and Head of Sixth Form when there will be an opportunity to discuss GCSE performance, A Level subject choices and future career aspirations.
Whilst we accept applications at any point preceding admission, a Scholarship Examination and Sixth Form Taster Day is held in the November preceding admission so we recommend applying before the end of October. Formal offers are sent in February so subject choices of applications made after this point may not always be able to be accommodated.
Students joining us from other schools will be invited to events throughout Year 11 to ensure that they feel fully settled and familiar with Westholme, staff and students before commencing their A Level studies.
Overseas Admissions
The School is currently a registered UK Border Agency sponsor (Tier 4) and accepts admissions from overseas students looking to enrol in the Sixth Form. Parents must inform the Registrar when returning a completed Registration Form or at any other time if their child requires sponsorship from the School in order to obtain a visa to study at Westholme.
