James Anderson Author Visit

We were delighted to welcome Cricket Legend James Anderson and his friend and co-writer Felix White (former songwriter and guitarist from Indie rock band ‘The Maccabees) last night.

They came to discuss all things cricket and Jimmy’s new book ‘Bowl.Sleep.Repeat’. to an excited audience of cricket lovers. Throughout the evening they spoke about Jimmy’s England career, the brilliant batsmen he has faced at the crease, the best captains and superstitions!

Statistically, James Anderson, known by his team mates and all cricket fans as Jimmy, is the highest wicket taking fast bowler in the history of the game.

Both Jimmy and Felix present the podcast, Tailenders, on BBC Radio 5 Live.  The podcast is hugely successful, very funny and a brilliant introduction to the game of cricket. This could definitely be said of last night’s talk – even those who didn’t necessarily know much about the sport were entertained by the dynamic pair.

The audience enjoyed listening to funny anecdotes and they left feeling thoroughly entertained. It was fitting that our sports field looked stunning as the backdrop for this insightful talk.

We would like to say thank you to James and his publicist for coming to Westholme and to Elaine and Jake from Silverwood for arranging this event with us.
