Gold medals all round for junior cross country team
The students at Westholme Girls’ Junior School have been running their way through a number of competitions over the last few weeks with outstanding results.
On Monday 5th October the Year 5 and 6 girls’ cross country team went to the Blackburn with Darwen Cross Country competition at Witton Park, Blackburn and all 6 girls finished in the top 20. Our 4 fastest runners all came home within the top 10, despite the rain and muddy conditions and Alexa McTiffin won the race!
Later in the week (Wednesday 7th October), the Year 5 team travelled to the AJIS cross country competition at Rossall School and had another very successful day, winning the event, and were thrilled to all be awarded gold medals. The girls competed against the top runners from independent schools throughout the North West and finished in fantastic position to take the title in AJIS’s biggest annual event. Alexa McTiffin came away with two gold medals as she was also the individual winner. It was an amazing day!!
