Junior School Carol Service

Three Westholme junior school pupils play their violins at the junior school carol service in Blackburn Cathedral

On Friday afternoon, the students from Junior School gathered together with parents, siblings and friends at Blackburn Cathedral for the Carol Service, led by The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones, Dean of Blackburn.

The service started with the harmonious voices of the students singing ‘The Christmas Story’, which set the scene for a festive celebration of beautiful readings, moving musical performances and uplifting vocals.

Everyone joined together during the joyful service to sing much loved carols including, ‘Good King Wenceslas’, ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ and ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’.

There was also a lovely rendition of ‘We Are Camels’,  sung by the pupils in Year 2 which delighted the congregation.

Everyone sang, read and performed wonderfully and the cathedral was filled with the spirit of Christmas. What a marvellous start to the celebrations!
