Junior pupils compete at the Lancashire Indoor Sportshall
Boys and girls from Westholme Junior School performed extremely well in the first of the Lancashire Indoor Sportshall series at Stanley Park, Blackpool on Sunday. The boys team managed to finish in 6th place at the end of the day. Most of our Year 4 boys did exceptionally well competing against boys from Year 5 and 6. Having now experienced the day, I am sure we will be back next time with some improved performances. Well done boys!
The girls also performed extremely well with a mixture of Year 4, 5 and 6 girls competing on the day. We had some well placed individual performances with Molly Moore, Christie Sturgess and Freya Tembe gaining good points for the team. Special congratulations to Sophie Waddicor on winning the chest push event, gaining top marks for the team.
Overall, the Westholme team did fantastically, coming 2nd out of all the club teams competing. When all the points were combined, the boys and girls team finished 7th out of 12 teams, with Westholme being the only school side to compete, all others being athletics club teams.
Well done to all the competitors – see you all again for the next competition in January.
