Celebrating Chinese New Year
This week Year 1 have enjoyed finding out about the traditions and celebrations associated with Chinese New Year. They have listened to the story of the New Year and how the years came to be named after twelve animals. Chinese lanterns and lucky red money envelopes have been made and Mr Appleton helped the children to take part in a traditional dragon dance during their PE lesson.
This afternoon, the boys and girls enjoyed a delicious Chinese Banquet. They tasted a dim sum platter made up of treats such as spring rolls, vegetable moneybags, oriental noodles and prawn toast. Many thanks to Mrs Ballan for providing, cooking and delivering the fantastic feast from Senior School.
The children had a fantastic time tasting the delights of Chinese food!
