Our Lads’ and Dads’ enjoy their adventure weekend in the Lake District
Last weekend, 30 families gathered at Rookin House in the Lake District for the inaugural Lads’ and Dads’ Adventure Weekend.
Arrival at 9am on Saturday with gorgeous sunshine got the weekend off to a great start. Eager to embark on their adventure, lads and their dads were assembled into groups to begin their activities which included an assault course, archery and riffle shooting. A treasure hunt and problem solving activities were also enjoyed. One of the main highlights was the Argo Cat – a white knuckle ride on an eight wheel amphibious vehicle! Several games of cricket and football were played out on the fields whilst others enjoyed exploring and playing in the wonderful outdoors.
After an exciting, yet exhausting day spent in the great outdoors, everyone gathered together in the cmping barn to ‘muck in’ and prepare the evening meal and a curry was enjoyed by all! Whilst Dads’ enjoyed catching up, the boys were thrilled to be taking part in the biggest ever sleep over!
They awoke on the Sunday morning to find that the weather had changed from lovely sunshine to strong winds and rain showers! After a hearty breakfast, everyone set out to enjoy the morning’s activities – Quad Biking or a short walk, taking in Aire Force.
Everyone enjoyed a fantastic weekend and left with many tales of adventure and laughter!
