Year 2 spend a day at Brockhole Visitors Centre
Year 2 had a lovely sunny day in the Lake District. After travelling by coach the children arrived at Haverthwaite steam railway station.
The children had a light snack of juice and biscuits while the adults were treated to warm homemade scones.
The steam train made its way to Lakeside, Windermere where the children boarded the ‘Teal’ and enjoyed the beautiful Lakeland countryside as they sailed up Lake Windermere to Brockhole Visitors Centre.
After a quick lunch they split into groups and enjoyed an afternoon of…
Pond dipping – where the children caught a range of pond life from amazing newts to supersize water snails.
Smelly Cocktails – where the children roamed the beautiful gardens searching for ‘ingredients’ for a smelly or scented potion.
All the children enjoyed a bit of downtime on the play area before setting off back home to school.
Thank you to all our parent helpers – you were fantastic!
