Senior School Remembrance Day Service
Today, all pupils at Senior School attended an assembly presented by the history department, to mark Armistice Day. Through powerful images, readings and prayers, staff and students explained why it is important that we remember the fallen on the 11th November and how we should wear our poppies with pride as a mark of respect.
After singing the traditional remembrance hymn, ‘Abide with me’ and observing a two minute silence, the poem of the Great War was read movingly, by Mr Stewart, before Sixth Form student, Evie Jones played The Last Post.
A wreath was laid by Lexie Smith, who, along with Rebecca Wignall, came to school wearing their traditional air cadet’s uniform.
