Let’s Go Sing!

On Thursday 28 April, having rehearsed in Ewood Park through the afternoon, Westholme pupils from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 joined a choir of 4,200 children to sing that evening.

Being a part of a choir this size, as well as singing to an audience of over 6,000, was a fantastic experience for them and our Westholme pupils did us proud. Their behaviour, manners, smartness of uniform and enthusiasm stood out and we were hugely proud of their achievements. The audience were entertained with a myriad of songs, many of them original and written by local teachers, song writers and poets, covering different genres of music from Reggae to Bluegrass. You can watch clips of the event below.

It was a fantastic evening and one that will live long in our memories. Huge thanks need to go to all staff who accompanied the children, but a special thanks also must be given to Mrs Burton for organising and to both Mrs Burton and Mrs Tinniswood, who prepared the children for this event and who both stepped up at the last minute conduct!
