GCSE and A Level Theatre Visit to The Lowry Theatre
Our Year 10 and Year 12 Drama classes went to see ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’ at The Lowry Theatre, Manchester on Tuesday evening.
The students were blown away by the adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel about a teenage boy with Asperger’s Syndrome. The play is staged in a versatile black box with clever use of projections and sound to create different locations. The genius of this production is that the tragedy is bound up in so much charm, whimsy, good humour and state- of- the- art staging that you only occasionally feel sad.
Westholme pupils will review the performance as part of their written examination and have loved performing parts of the script in lessons.
