Westholme students compete in Maths Challenges
Westholme students have competed in a number of Maths Challenges recently. Firstly, Years 9, 10 and 11 pupils entered the UK Intermediate Challenge Mathematics Challenge along with over 200,000 pupils nationwide. As always, there were some fantastic performances and this year 22 students who were awarded certificates.

Secondly, Westholme students competed in the MEM (Mathematical Education on Merseyside) Challenge which is run by Liverpool University. Pupils are invited to produce solutions to a series of challenging problems and this year the University received around 2,500 entries from 121 schools. Ritu Bhattacharyya won Best in School for the Senior Challenge and Ben Middleton won Best in School for the Junior Challenge. Both students were Ritu and Ben were also awarded a Certificate of Merit and have been invited to receive their certificate at Liverpool University.
