Huge congratulations to Mark, who recently finished Year 10 and will be moving into Year 11 in September, for his superb performance at the recent National Swimming Finals.
Mark went into competition placed 17th in the rankings, and successfully qualified for the National finals after swimming an amazing Personal Best time in the heats.
In the final he did fantastically well and finished in third, only being 600th of a second behind first position. It was an incredibly tight race and rightly so, Mark’s parents and family are very proud of him, as are all his teachers at Westholme.

Mark’s achievement is made all the more impressive considering he broke his arm earlier on in the year and was unable to train until it was fully healed.
After his recent success, he very much still has the swimming bug and will continue to train at 4am before school in order to achieve his goals. Although he now has a well deserved 3 weeks off.
Well done Mark and we look forward to seeing your return to Westholme (and the pool) in September.
