The Junior School pupils take to the stage
The Junior School pupils certainly had ‘the power in them’ last night, as they took to the stage for the annual Musical Evening performance.
The first half was a showcase for the talented young musicians. The orchestra began the proceedings with a wonderful selection of English Folk Songs that had the audience tapping their feet in no time at all!
The pupils played a range of musical instruments with great skill, from the brass group’s stunning performance of ‘Drunken Sailor’ to the melodic sounds of the Harp Duo, who were, simply sublime. The sensational finale was a whole school performance of the song ‘Power in Me’ complete with harmonious voices and co-ordinated actions – what a treat indeed!
The second half transported the audience to Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire for a unique performance of Robin Hood. Complete with his band of merry men and fair maiden, the story was told excellently through singing, dancing and much humour. The Year 6 pupils took on the lead roles and were ably supported by the rest of the school who sang their hearts out through the whole performance.
It really was a show to be proud of – well done to everyone!
