Moving on up!

Year 7 enjoy a day of team-building and move-up preparation

On Tuesday 11 June, Year 7 girls experienced a very full day as they prepared for the move up to Year 8.   In the morning, the girls were assisted by Lower Sixth pupils who are completing the Community Sports Leadership Award.   These students had organised some fabulous games which helped them to think about organisation, team work, perseverance and following instructions.   They organised an obstacle course, played Chinese whispers and tried to get eleven girls to skip on one rope!

In the afternoon girls moved indoors to think about activities that were more directly related to Year 8.   They worked out how to use homework diaries efficiently, thought about personal presentation and being role models and finally discussed safe use of the internet.   In the evening, the mood lightened, the girls got changed and we headed to the Lecture Theatre to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. In the interval of the film, the Year 10 pupils had organised pink themed entertainments and the girls drank mocktails and had their nails painted.   Some very tired Year 7 girls headed home at 6.30 p.m. having had a very fulfilling day.
