Mrs Gibson’s Retirement Lunch for former pupils and former staff was a real affair to remember! Over forty friends and colleagues gathered in the Sixth Form Common Room with cameras, gifts and occasionally tears. Elizabeth felt quite heady with the excitement of it all, especially when she saw the beautiful retirement cake which had been made specially for her by Yvonne Herrick.
Mrs Croston spoke about Elizabeth’s astonishing thirty seven year tenure at Westholme and expressed on behalf of us all how much she will be missed as a teacher and a friend.
Anecdotes about Elizabeth’s creativity, inspiration and humour were told to an appreciative audience who all had experienced their own special times with our illustrious Head of English. We wish her the very best in her future days of leisure!
