The children in Year 2 visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester . This was as part of their history and science curriculum.
They were excited to meet Fireman Fred and Engineer Eric who worked on Pender, a real steam engine. They learnt about all of the internal workings of the engine and how steam power was an important part of our history.
Then they visited the air and space hall where they were amazed by a Lancaster bomber, a penny farthing and many more iconic means of transportation. In the air and space hall they visited a planetarium where they went stargazing and learnt all about Neil Armstrong.
Children also managed to find the time to visit ”˜Experiment’ the hands-on science area which had them thinking, exploring and investigating!
