Today the NCS team came into Senior School to talk to Lower Sixth students about the opportunities they provide for students wishing to expand their portfolio.
The NCS (National Citizen Service) Autumn Programme is a fantastic opportunity and specifically designed for college and sixth form students in October half-term.
This is a chance to gain independence, meet new people, and develop essential skills for the future. NCS Autumn is 11 days long and will help students prepare for the world of work and university, through exciting outdoor activities, creative workshops, and volunteering with a local charity.
Universities and employers actively seek candidates who have taken part in the NCS programme, as they will be able to demonstrate skills which are essential in the modern world, such as public speaking, teamwork, and leadership.
The Autumn Programme begins on Saturday 19th October and all NCS Graduates will receive a certificate signed by the Prime Minister to reward your hard work with formal and national recognition. The website to sign up is NCSYES.CO.UK/AUTUMN, alternatively there are some paper packs in school to be handed in by 23rd September when the NCS team will be into collect them.
NCS has worked alongside Westholme since 2017 and since then over 30 young people have participated in the Summer and Autumn programmes.
